Condition B+: restored loss in upper right margin; wrinkles in image. Paper. Framed.
This" dreamy vision of a girl carrying a bouquet, in sepia monochrome" (Rennert/Weill p. 184) was originally printed as a calendar, on speculation, by Champenois who was hoping to find a sponsor who would include their name in the image. That sponsor was never found, but as with all of Mucha's work the public was hungry for more images and the print survived as a decorative panel. On February 15, 1898, the magazine L'Estampe et l'Affiche<> offered a "deluxe edition of the print alone [without the calendarium]...printed on China paper. It claims that this is an edition limited to 200 copies" (Rennert/Weill p. 186). Rennert/Weill 46 var. 1.
